DOWNLOAD JASON'S SHOWREEL Jason Smith, the multi-award winning commercials and music video director, returns to the UK and joins Serious Pictures for representation.
Jason is a Londoner that has spent the last 3 years directing some of the highest profile commercials in the United States. Jason has a distinct visual style that he combines with strong performance, effortlessly blended with complex post. This fusion of talent has earned Jason an enviable reputation in the US where he has directed commercials for brands such as; Nike, Coca-Cola, Verizon, Mountain Dew, EA Games, Sony, Mitsubishi, Ford, Audi, and Kia.
Jason brings with him a wealth of experience. His early directing successes included a nomination for Best New Director at Cannes, where he also won the first of many awards for his Puma and Alain Afflelou campaigns. His Nike “Lance” campaign went on to win the prestigious AICP award and has featured at MOMA in New York.
Jason has since won numerous Cannes Lions, BTAA, Creative Circle awards and has received many D&AD and CAD nominations.
Most recently Jason has been on the road in the US shooting a documentary following the journey of acclaimed sculptor Jon Krawzyck across 18 states from California to New York with his replacement 9/11 memorial cross strapped to the back of a pick up truck. Capturing the soul of America through his eyes it is due for release in early 2012.
