DOWNLOAD PETER'S SHOWREEL Peter Webber is currently in pre-production on his latest feature in New Zealand. With a working title of Emperor, it will go into production in January 2012, filming in both Auckland and Wellington, with some shooting taking place in Japan. Starring Mathew Fox & Tommy Lee Jones, it is set amid the days following the Japanese surrender at the end of World War II.
2009 to 2011 saw Peter take on the role as Artistic Director for National Day in Qatar. Peter commissioned and oversaw the development and execution of a number of documentaries TV commercials, short films and live events in collaboration with Serious Pictures. He also Directed a number of the high-end projects.
Peter is best known for his debut film ‘Girl With A Pearl Earring’ starring Colin Firth and Scarlett Johansson. The film won numerous awards at film festivals all over the world and also scored nominations at the Academy Awards (in three categories), the Golden Globes (two categories) and BAFTA (Ten categories, including the Carl Foreman Award for Special Achievement by a Director in their first feature film).
Having finished his second feature, Hannibal Rising, in 2007, and since joining Serious in September 2007, Peter has taken flight in commercials. He has Directed campaigns for Peugeot for Ogilvy London, Fire Safety out of Euro RSCG, The International Red Cross out of Hurrel & Dawson and a set of commercials for the National Blood Service with the COI/ DLKW.
Alongside features, Peter is also highly revered in the world of TV drama, having directed dramas for the BBC and Channel 4 including the critically acclaimed ‘Men Only’, and an episode of HBO’s hugely popular ‘Six Feet Under’. Peter has directed a number of documentaries including 1994’s award-winning ‘An A-Z of Wagner’ and a number of films for the Channel 4 science programme Equinox.
